Patient Information

Male 75 years old patient sustained a vertebral distraction fracture in level T8.
Patient´s bone quality was good

Planned Surgery:

  1. Posterior fixation T6 – T10
  2. Lateral percutaneous access
  3. Fracture reduction T8 – plan was 10° correction
  4. Neo ADVISE™ trauma module to be used

Posterior fixation with Neo Pedicle Screw System™

Totally 8 pedicle screws placed over the 4 levels T6-T10

  • T6 –   2 x Ø5.0×40 mm polyaxial
  • T7 –   2 x Ø5.0×40 mm monoaxial
  • T9 –   2 x Ø6.0×45 mm monoaxial
  • T10 – 2 x Ø6.0×45 mm polyaxial

Rod selection

Titanium rods 2 x 130 mm straight

Adjusting angle to be corrected: for this case -10° correction to close the fracture gap

Rod bending using the rod visualization in the iPad screen as template for both the sagittal and the coronal planes.

  • Intra OP Blood loss:  100 ml
  • Duration of surgery: 90 min
  • Neurological status: No neurovascular deficit
  • Patient was discharged from the hospital after 9 days
